British Museum

My parents visited the #1 rated Museum in the World while in London.....The British Museum. Founded in 1753, it has more than 13 million objects spanning two million years of human history and culture. It's amongst the largest and most comprehensive in the world and originates from all continents.

Here is one of the biggest treasures of the museum...The Rosetta Stone, which is an Ancient Egyptian artifact used in advancing modern understanding of hieroglyphic writing. It has three translations of a single passage, written in hieroglyphics, demotic, and classical Greek. It was created in 196 BC and discovered by the French in1799 at Rosetta.

Also from Egypt, were real mummies including the Cleopatra of Thebes (100 AD). It is still preserved and has never been opened but has had CT scans to determine the authenticity. Here are a few other ancient mummies that have been unraveled.
