Speaker's Corner

Every Sunday in London, people gather in the northeast corner of Hyde Park for Speaker's Corner. A Speakers' Corner is an area where public speaking is allowed. In fact, this is the the original and most noted speaker's corner in the world. Speakers there are allowed to speak as long as the police consider their speeches lawful...(which mean no bad talk about the monarchy of England). Anyone can turn up unannounced and talk on almost any subject. My mom was interested in the little old man who was attempting to promote positive thoughts while my dad was interested in the big religous debate amongst Christians, Jews, Hebrews, and many others. He even made a few comments himself. If I was there, I would have talked about why dogs should get people scraps or should be able to go on vacation with their parents. Maybe we could even dicuss the horrible use of shock collars. I would probably be a hit!
