Tate Modern
In this photo, you can see my dad with a view of Tate Modern to his right. The Tate Modern is Britain's national museum of international moderan art. The galleries are housed in the former Bankside Power Station that was closed in 1981. The musuem, which is 99m tall, was opened in May 2000.
Currently, the musuem is showcasing the work of Louise Bourgeois, and artist and scultor. Her most famous works are possibly the spider structures, titled Maman, from the last dozen years. An enormous 35 feet high spider by Bourgeois, the largest she has made, sits in the entry of the musuem. I didn't believe it was that tall until I saw of photo of my mother next to the spider's leg. Can you find her?
