It's official!!
As of Today, April 23, 2007....
I have been a Burk for one year!
Today is my Gotcha Day!
It's the day my mom and dad adopted me.
My mom keeps telling me stories about how I came to be apart of this family. And my real mom was a dog...I think she meant that in a nice way if you know what I mean. Anyways, my mom (Tricia) said I was the liveliest one of the bunch! I had to be center of attention. On the day they got me, my parents went to see me where I was born. I was with my four brothers near the water spout. When all my brothers wore out, I was still going! My parents though I had a lot of personlity. Little did they know, I just needed lots and lots of attention. They said when they finally picked me, they took me towards the car. My biological mother went to check on my other brothers and I cried and cried and cried. I didn't stop the whole way home until we got to PetSmart. There I was greeted by everyone in the store. Everyone thought I was cute and wanted to hold me!!!! I eventually feel asleep in the buggy. After that, I was brought to my new home!! Wow, what a day!!!
Here is a photo that shows my FIRST DAY along with my GOTCHA DAY. On the tv is the first post ever made on my blog. When you get some time, go through the archives and look at all the fun our family has had this first year!!!

Happy Birthday Uncle Paul!!
Happy Birthday to Paul! Happy Birthday to Paul!
Happy Happy Birthday Uncle Paul, Happy Birthday to you!!
You are so super cool!!! Most of you loyal blog viewers may remember that I am very proud of my Uncle Paul. He is in the military. You can see photos of him in the archives under the "4th of July Salute to my family in the Military." Just click July and scroll to the bottom to July 12th & 14th! Paul is the husband of my Aunt Cynthia (seen here and on posts for Aug 26 and Jan 28...check out some of their other special days). Uncle Paul is also the dad of my Cousin Jedi, the Jack Russell (see post on Aug 8). That Jedi is so cool, he's like a Jedi Master or something!! Uncle Paul lives with his family in Washington DC where these photos were taken. My parents told me it was a photo of the White House, but I'm not so sure. Afterall, I am a dog and dogs are color blind. I just belive what I'm told!! Hope you have a Happy Birthday! Love you!!! See you soon!!

I'm a good dog!
Every weekday morning when my mom is getting ready, I sit outside the bathroom door and watch her. I occasionally get up and ask for a treat. I've learned that if I look pretty and don't bother her over and over like I usually do, I will get one! Don't I look so adorable?!? Wouldn't you give me a treat for being so cute? If so, please send a comment telling my parents I need more and more and more treats! You can never get enough!

I want to see!!
I never like to have closed doors in the house. If a door is closed and one of my parents is on the other side, I will make sure to open it. This picture was taken when my mom went outside and I was trying to escape into the front yard. My favorite time to open a door is when someone is in the bathroom. Don't forget to remember this information when you come to my house and you need to use the potty. :)

There was a little bit predicted over night. So in honor of the snow, I added this cool pic which was never posted during the snow events. Enjoy!

HAPPY EASTER
Hello Everyone! Just wanted to wish you a Happy Easter. What an exciting day! It's the best day of the year! It's the day we celebrate what Jesus did for us!!! For those who do not know, my mom is now the Emcee for Toon Town at 11:30 (that's kid's church for 6 years to 3rd grade). Here was today's verse for Easter....
MATTHEW 28:6
"He is not here. He is risen, just as he said. Come and see the play where he lay."
Isn't that cool. Jesus told his disciples that he would be killed and that he would come back to life...seems impossible huh! Well the bible says nothing is impossible with GOD!
Hope you remember today all that Jesus did for us!
HAPPY EASTER!

Dinner is Served!
After a long pain-staking wait, the were all red and ready to eat. You might have to compare with the photo a day ago. Isn't that cool! Did you know...a lobster is done when you can pull off the antennas. I must be the smartest dog in the world for knowing that! What other dog knows such important information. Man, look at that one lobster on the plate to the left... he's steaming mad!

The way things ought to be
You know, there are also photos of the past with women working hard in the kitchen to make the family meal. It's about time men step up and start cooking for the wifes. What do they think is? 1950? Times have changed. Men need to be cooking with the oven mitts. My dad understands this, so he is being a role model for all other men in the world. I'm so proud!
(PS. Since I was so kind and uplifting, I think I deserve my own lobster and potato as a treat...don't you think dad! and mom!)

True Colors
They always say that at one point in time, everyone shows their 'true colors.' Who knew that a lobster's true color was RED? I think it matched the lobster's personality well. If you look closely only one is changing into a Raging Red. I bet it was the lobster with the Yellow rubberbands. That old meany!

Bombs Away
I guess my dad really wasn't just joking that he was going to cook lobster for dinner. He put water in the pan and after a while this thing called steam started emerging. I wonder what will happen when he puts the lobsters in the pan. On a side note...I am feeling a little guilty that I said they both had to go. I don't think I understood the process. I didn't know that you BOILED a lobster. I'm only a dog! What do I know about cooking. SORRY FELLAS!
Remorsefully yours,
Sawyer

Trying it out for size
Just to make sure that two lobsters would fit, we tested it out. Isn't this a cool photo shot? Well, I guess it's pretty cool as long as it isn't you inside. Now that I think about it...the lobster with the red rubberband is on top. I think he is trying to escape by climbing on the other lobster so that he can get out. I guess he wasn't happy with the previous agreement. That goes to show you, never make a lobster mad.

And the verdict is....
....both of the lobster get to live!
APRIL FOOLS!
They can't be serious. Why in the world would my dad pay for those lobsters if they weren't going to be dinner? Who did that lobster think he was telling the other one to "take one for the team?" I made the final decision. NOW WHO'S GOT THE POWER? SAWYER THE DOG!!
