Battling it to the death

There were two lobsters on the counter and one decided that he was NOT going to be my parents' dinner. So he decided to battle it out to the death. (He's the one with the yellow rubber bands). Do you see the way he is being a dictator. He kept telling the red- banded lobster to "take one for the team." He thinks he is soooooo power. Little does he know that he's not in charge this time!

Dad...are you okay?

Something was very wrong with my dad when he was playing with the lobster. I think he thought he WAS the lobster. Look at those scary eyes. I think he was preparing to make that lobster into dinner. Boy, I sure hope I don't make him mad. If so, I might BE dinner tonight. Yikes!

Our First Meeting

At first glance, I had no idea what to think of these creatures called lobsters. My parents told me they were for dinner, but for some reason the lobsters looked real. I think it was even looking at me and watching my every move. In fact, I think it tried to snap at me. That lobster better be glad his claws were tied or I would have had to give him a 'fight for his life!'

A Backyard Made for a King

After everyone had left, my dad and I went outside to enjoy the scenery. It's a backyard make for a King (and a Prince like me too)! It's another great place to share family memories...like my dad and I hugging outside. For some reason he wouldn't let me take his seat. Therefore, I decided we could share....ahhh.... FAMILY TIME!

Goodbye Family, Thanks for the visit

Last weekend was so great! I got to hang out with my grandparents and Toby AND my backyard was decorated. I was sad to see my family go. Here I am watching Toby and making sure he doesn't leave too soon. You might remember from older blog messages that I am Toby's watchman. I herd him like he is my little sheep. I think he really likes it!!! Bye Bye Toby! See you real soon!

Enjoying the Scenery

After all the hard work, my dad and grandparents stopped and 'smelled the roses.' Doesn't it look great! Our backyard is so much more beautiful to look at. I just love it! My mom and dad come out all the time and enjoy the new scenery. Which means I get to do more of my two favorite things....be outside and hang with my parents!! Life gets better and better! Thanks for all of your help Don & Diana! (Here's a photo of our new flowers and umbrella)

Toby's Job

Who ever said dogs were lazy? Not me! I learn from my best friend...Toby. He's the smartest one in the family!! While my dad and grandparents were planing shrubs, he laid under the patio table and managed the whole event. He also gave orders as needed such as "pick me up, I need food, etc." What a great supervisor. What would they have done without him!

Flowers by Diana

My Grandma Diana made beautiful flower arrangements in pots to soften the look of our backyard! They are gorgeous!!! My parents and I look at them all the time. I love to sniff them! Sometimes when my parents aren't looking, I not smell and lick them! But, DON'T Tell. We just love the flowers. It makes the backyard a wonderful place to rest and relax with my parents after a long day!!

P.S. A photo of my Grandma with the final product is coming up in a few days. So stay tuned.

Planting in the Backyard

My grandpa Don helped plant bushes on the side of the fence. He also worked hard to plant a Bradford pear tree to provide shade for me during the day (You can look at the archives about me enjoying the shade...it's towards the beginning on the blog). Doesn't his photo with the tree look like something out of GREEN ACRES!

The Truth

Okay, okay! I got in trouble for telling a little white lie. My dad was actually sliding down the hill with mom. She took the picture and I used it for blackmail. Here is how it really "went down." My dad actually had a stick and made me wait at his feet after he threw it. I was a submissive dog and waited until he said "Go Get it!" So there you have it...dad is a little bit smarter than me!

Snow on the Pond

One day during the snow, my parents decided we could go for a walk. Who would have thought that snow was other places than our backyard? The whole pond was frozen solid. But that didn't stop me. I could still play with my stick in the field. In fact, the snow made it easier to spot my stick. It was cool!! (Literally!)

The 3rd Snow Event of the Season

There were three events...the first two you saw were the snow storm, then the ice storm. Now, here are pictures of the last event. It was a little bit of snow, but enough to have a blast. I was always excited when the snow came back around!!!
