So Tired

After all the eating, dancing, playing and entertaining, I was pooped. The best part was that my parents are so awesome. They stopped everything they were doing and let me lay on the couch while they scratched my back. The only problem was that my head kept falling off. So my dad jumped to my rescue and held up my head with his shoulder. He must really love me! I think I have the best parents in the world!!! They knew I needed a good nights rest for my trip to Dallas the next day. Stay tune for photos of Barclay and his family!

Dancing Queens

My mom and I listen to the music of ABBA all the time (We loved it in the musical Mama Mia). One of my favorite songs is Dancing Queen. For Christmas, I got to experience what the song really meant. Late in the evening, Aunt Doi, JJ and my mom danced to Christmas music. Aunt Doi even added a traditional Thai dress and her new scarf as props. They would dance, leap, and turn all around the living room.
It look liked so much fun that I couldn't help but join in. When they where going in a circle with the scarves, I tried to grab my spot in the group. However since I don't have hands (with thumbs), I had to use my mouth. I thought it was as blast! After every in the room shouted my name, I looked up to see JJ's expression. For some reason I don't think she liked me dancing with her. She was probably jealous because I am an awesome dancer. Little does she know I practice with my mom all the time at home. I decided I wouldn't steal her thunder and let her be the princess since she takes Dance classes. But, we all know that Prince Sawyer is the best dancer in the family!!!

Come On, Dad

All I asked for Christmas was a little bit of Christmas dinner. There were so many people at my Grandma Beef Jerky's house that some people sat in the living room while other sat in the dining room. For some reason my dad wouldn't let me go to the kitchen table and sweetly ask for food. (I'm sure no one would mind giving me a few choice bites of their meal.) Instead my dad convinced me that he would give me some of his food. Little did I know it was just a trick to get me away from other people. Now that's not funny at all!

Happy Anniversary!

I would like to take a moment to wish my Uncle Paul and Aunt Cynthia a very Happy Anniversary! Hope your marriage gets better and better everyday! Love you both!

Harleys Are Narley

JJ and her dad, Matt, thought it would be really cool to try out Pa's motorcycle. Unfortunately it was cold outside so they had to go into the Pa's Harley Den...AKA The Garage decorated in Harley Gear! JJ was a little scared to get on, but with her dad and Hello Kitty next to her side her fears drifted away. Doesn't get any better than a Princess on a Harley with a Christmas bow on her head! Now that is cool!

Say Cheese!

Before we went back inside, Aunt Doi wanted to take a quick photo. JJ thought it was a great moment for a pink girl photo opp. Since Pa brought out Grandma Beef Jerky's golden elephants for the bubble maker, JJ thought she and my mom could ride them....at least for a moment to get a picture! They're so silly! Pink Girls Rule!

Bubble Party

I went with JJ, Pa, Aunt Doi, and my parents to see the bubbles. My mom thought I wanted to run through the bubbles and catch them. Instead of I was little afraid of these clear circles floating in the air. I stayed next my dad and ran away from these crazy things. That's why there's no photo of me with bubbles. JJ, on the other hand, was very brave. She even held the magical machine when the bubbles originated. Maybe some day I will be as brave as her!!

Can we go outside?

One of the gifts my parents gave to JJ was a Princess Bubble Party Machine. It makes tons of bubbles. We kept asking if we could play in the house, but everyone thought it was a bad idea. We decided we that we needed to venture outside but needed a grown up to go with us since we are just kids. So we asked Uncle Matt if he would help us but he was a little hesitant since it was freezing outside. JJ and I went around the house with our "puppy dog eyes" and finally Pa, Aunt Doi, and my mom decided they would help us out. They always like a fun adventure!

Three of my Favorite People

My Grandma Beef Jerky, Pa, and Aunt Doi stopped a minute to take a photo for Christmas. My Aunt Doi had on her new Christmas sweater as well as her scarf set and Harley Hat with from Pa. She also had on the puppy socks I bought her. It's been really different for her to experience winter in America. Back in Thailand it's pretty warm so she didn't need gloves and scarfs. Plus, she had never seen snow until this year! During her first snow, she went outside and made snowballs. She even saved a few in the freezer. The best part was that when I arrived for Christmas she had saved me one and I got to eat a snowball in the kitchen. Yummy! You know I love to eat snowballs! What an exciting Christmas! I remember the first time I saw snow. If you don't recall my first snow, check back in the archives to Feb 2007 and March 2007 (at the bottom).

That's My Tire

For some reason, somebody thought I wasn't playing with my tire toy. They put it behind Grandpa's chair since it was in the middle of the room. However, that is not where I wanted it. I made sure to get it from it's storage place and carry it around the room. I really liked running and throwing it in the air as high as I could. However, I had to be careful not to let if fall on Grandma Beef Jerky's coffee table glass. You know, sometimes I don't know my own strength!!

I'll Help You!

Since JJ is so good at opening presents, she offered to help everyone in the house. Here she is helping her parents with their presents. As you can tell she was enjoying one of her own Christmas presents while she was being a big helper. She just loved the Princess dresses Uncle Paul and Aunt Cynthia sent her. She didn't even want to take it off to go to bed. The perfect gift for a princess! Maybe I could get a Prince costume since I'm the Prince of the Burk Household!

GIfts for Aunt Doi

Aunt Doi seemed to like the cozy socks I bought her. They had a dog with ears that wiggled and were really soft. She liked them so much that she told me thank you (left). I thought she meant she wanted me like them and play with them. My parents had to remind me that I gave them to Aunt Doi and I couldn't take them away, even though we are best friends...and we all know that best friends share!
I think Aunt Doi also liked the special lotions from Bath and Body Works from my parents as well as all the other gifts she got from the whole family. My favorite gift that I gave Aunt Doi was the photo frames with our family pictures. One of the photos had Aunt Doi and I hanging out on her bed. I knew she'd like that!!! She's one of my biggest fans!

Aunt Doi's First Christmas

After JJ and I opened our presents, it was time for Aunt Doi's first Christmas! I decided I would sit at her feet while I ate my peanut butter bone in case she needed help. JJ had a similar idea....when Aunt Doi started opening her presents, JJ quickly ran over and said "Here, I'll show you." JJ's a professional at opening presents so she thought Aunt Doi would like her help! Here they are opening the jewelry that Paul and Cynthia sent to Aunt Doi!

So Many Choices

I got some many gifts for Christmas that I couldn't decide where to start. Do I want the tire, rawhide, or Peanut Butter bone first? Too many choices for a dog to make. What made it even harder is that Uncle Matt, Aunt Doi, and dad were all trying to convenience me which one to start with.

I finally decided that I would start with the peanut butter bone since I haven't eaten one since last Christmas (to see blog entries, go to the archives under December 2006). I also thought it was a good decision since my dad was holding it. It's always good to make dad happy. That way he might buy me more bones. Don't worry Aunt Doi and Uncle Matt, I've got time and energy to play with your gifts as well!! (Hence the wink)

Merry Christmas to Me!!!

I got lots of gifts for Christmas. You already know that Aunt Doi bought me a red and white Boomer Sooner rope. To add to my pile, Aunt Bunny bought me a candy cane bone. My dad had to help me open it up. It wasn't like the bone I got from my parents. This one was made of peanut butter. It was so yummy!

Uncle Matt got me a tire with a rope that I can carry around. The tire is made of the same material as the tires on my mom and dad's cars. It has little paw prints for the tracks all the way around. Even though it's heavy, I have jaws of steel and carry it anywhere I want. What a cool macho gift Uncle Matt!

Last, but not least, Ma and Pa got me a big rawhide bone. Aunt Doi helped me open the wrapped package because she knows I don't have thumbs! I just love the bones with the knots of the end. I end up making it a game to see how long it takes to get the knots off. Boy, I'm sure glad that I was a good boy this year. I can't wait to play with all my new stuff! Thanks Everyone! Merry Christmas to me!!!

Best Friends Should Share

JJ got lots of things for Christmas. She especially loved the Barbie that Aunt Doi got here. I tried to remind JJ that we were best friends. And everyone knows that Best friends share. All I wanted to play with was her teddy bear, Hello Kitty, and Mulan Doll....just the ones that are soft and I can tear to shreds in minutes. I promised I let her play with the stuffing once I got it out, but she didn't like that idea. Instead she directed me to my pile where I had lots of gifts waiting for me. Tune in tomorrow to see what I got!

Christmas Presents

Everyone was excited to get Christmas presents, espeically JJ and I. We both helped distribute the presents. Pa would tell JJ who it belonged to, she would take it to them, and I would follow her. Sometimes I think I got her in way, but it was only to see if the present was for me. I wonder what's inside all these packages. It's crazy to think that these are only the JJ presents from Ma & Pa, my mom and dad, Doi, and Paul & Cynthia. I wonder what else she will get for Christmas from her parents, other grandparents, aunts and uncles, and Santa. She told my mom that she thinks she's getting a Baby Alive. She said she saw it at the house, but told my mom not to tell anyone that Santa came early!! I guess she'll have to wait for Santa, but the gifts she got at Ma and Pa's house should help her wait!

A Quick Nap before Bed

After a long day of driving and hanging out, we decided to watch the movie Incredibles. It ended up that some of our family decided to take a quick nap in the living room before they were off to bed...including me! Grandpa made sure JJ was asleep so he could make sure all the presents were under the tree. Coming up tomorrow....Christmas presents! Tune in to see my great gifts. I must have been a really good dog this year!!

Hanging with MY dad

I loved JJ's idea of hanging out with her dad so I decided to do the same thing. Since Grandma Beef Jerky was in my chair, I decided to join my dad on the comfy couch throughout the night. My mom once told me that she thought Grandma's couch was one of the most comfortable places in the world. While my mom was in college, she would come home to grandma's house and just lay on the couch for hours. It was the one place my mom knew she could get the best rest ever and take a break from her busy life. I think it's more than just the couch that makes it so relaxing, I think it's being around the ones you love!!! Thanks Grandma Beef Jerky for sharing your home, your couch, and your love!!

Hanging with dad

When it comes to ending the night, JJ had the right idea. She hung out with one of her favorite people...her dad. They talked about what they thought was under the Christmas tree, read Christmas stories, and most of all....played a game of "keep away" from my dad, Ryan. It's not a typical game of keep away, it's one they made up themselves. You might say it was called "Keep away from my chair, Ryan!" JJ's ultimate goal for the weekend was that no one, especially her Uncle Ryan, got her chair. The only exception was her dad! Isn't that sweet? He must be really special!

Whose Chair is it?

Grandma and I did not agree on one thing over Christmas. When I am NOT at her house, she always sits in her comfy, pink plaid chair. However when I AM there, that's my spot. To prove it, Aunt Doi put a blue blanket on it for me to rest. For some reason, Grandma didn't take the hint and sat in my spot. I think stubbornness runs in the family as neither one of us were willing to give up the chair as you can see in the photo. Here we are looking a litter perturbed with each other. We finally made a comprise...she gave me beef jerky and I let her sit in the chair. Doesn't get any better than that!

Pink Girls

JJ and my mom were both excited that they had pink PJs for Christmas and matching black slippers that sparkled. They nicknamed themselves the "Pink Girls." They even convinced Grandma Beefy Jerky that she needed to wear her pink robe and black sparkly slippers to match. (You'll see her outfit in days to come) I guess fashion just runs in the family!!

Aunt Doi, for me???

As I was walking around, I noticed a red and white rope laying under the Christmas tree. When Aunt Doi picked it up, I quickly ran to see if it was for me. And guess what? IT WAS!!! My Aunt Doi and I have been best friends since she was my nanny for a week while my parents went to London. She knows I like toys and I like to play! What an awesome gift! Thanks Aunt Doi! I love it!!!

Cookies for Santa

Grandma's idea was perfect! My mom and JJ made lots of different Christmas Cookies. Since I don't have thumbs (or will-power not to lick the cookies), I had to ask my mom to make my cookies for Santa. She promised not to tell Grandma that Santa had already come to our house.
Since he's already been there, who is going to eat his cookies? I KNOW...maybe when my parents are asleep, I can sneak into the room with the cookies and eat them. That way, my parents will think that Santa came to our house! Great idea! Everyone wins!!

Christmas at Grandma Beef Jerky's House

To begin our Christmas Journey 2007, we drove through the light snow to Grandma Beef Jerky's House. She was prepared to help JJ get ready for Santa by decorating Christmas cookies. I didn't want to tell Grandma I already got my gift from Santa (and ate it all) because I wasn't sure she'd let me join in. Since I'm a grandchild too, I thought it was only right that I participated. I tested out a few cookies by licking the icing when no one was looking. Once, JJ got really mad that I sampled her cookie's icing with a big lick. I ONLY wanted to make sure it was good enough for her to eat. What are best friends/cousins for!!!
