Exhausted

Sawyer had such a blast with all of his guests (Shannon, Katrina, Don, Diana, Toby, and Andy). It was a great way to celebrate turning 4 months old. When everyone left he was completely exhausted. You can tell from his drooping eyes that he can hardly stay awake. Thanks for coming and making his week special!!!

Toby

Sawyer got some quality time with Toby. Technically, Toby is Sawyer's Uncle. You may remember him from previous posts. Toby did not forget about Sawyer and his abundant energy. However, when Sawyer was exhausted and settled now they got along just fine.

The Burks

Sawyer got to visit with his Grandparents on the Burk side of the family when Don, Diana, and Toby came up for the weekend. After working hard to change the fireplace from wood to gas, Don and Sawyer relaxed on the couch. Sawyer loved the new sparkling flames from the gas logs. It was a great way to end the evening!

Happy Birthday Uncle Matt!!

Sawyer wants to send birthday wishes to his Uncle Matt!!!
LOVE YOU!!!

Sawyer and Andy were side-by-side the entire weekend. As you can tell from their tongues, they were pretty exhausted from all the running and playing.

Fun Fact:
Did you know….they dogs pant because they can not sweat like people!!!

"Dogs have just a few sweat glands in their paws, so no matter how much they sweat, they never cool off. That's where the tongue-hanging, mouth-open puppy breathing comes in. The fresh air a dog breathes works like a fan to cool the blood in the snout, which then circulates to cool the rest of the pup. Panting helps a dog get the much needed air to its nose more quickly. But normally, just a wet doggy nose is enough to keep its system cool. " (Ask.com)

Though Sawyer was very sad to see Katrina and Shannon leave, he had little time to relax. His friend, Andy, came to play for the weekend. The two hit it off quickly. They immediately pranced around the backyard together as if they were old friends.

To give him opportunities to learn from his past mistakes, the hammock pillow was left outside on the hammock. This time Sawyer pulled it down and used it as a cushion as he awaited the arrival of his friend, Andy.

Sawyer's Family

Here is photo that Aunt Shannon took right before bedtime. At night, Sawyer enjoys hanging with his parents to round out the evening. Sometimes he gets a bedtime story before he goes into his cage. He's favorite thing is to hear all the comments left on his blog. So feel free to comments anytime. All comments are emailed directly to Sawyer and none are skipped.

After he ruined the pillow, Sawyer's parents made sure he knew it was wrong. Sawyer was definately regretful of his actions and vowed to never do it again. How do we? We can see it in those beautiful eyes!

While the parents are away, the puppy will play!!!

Sawyer quickly discovered that something was hidden inside the hammock pillow. So one day, while his parents worked all day and then went to dinner with Aunt Shannon and Katrina, he was determined to find out what it was. After pawing through the pillow, he found the stuffing. There goes the theory that he sleeps all day when his parents are away. What a crazy dog!!!

Katrina

Sawyer thought Katrina was a blast! In fact, he thought she was precious and just wanted to be close by her side. In fact, he thought the pillow was too much of a barrier. So he tried to move it with his paws to get a little closer. Maybe he enjoyed looking into her beautiful eyes. One thing we know for sure is that Sawyer misses her and anticipates her next visit!

Sawyer and his Aunt Shannon were like Two peas in a Pods. He loved cuddling with her as the night went on. His Aunt Shannon made him feel so loved!! He can't wait for your next visit. Who knows, maybe he can go to LA and become an acting dog. He does have a lot of flare!

CALL FOR PHOTOS

Sawyer would like to show all of his fellow dogs (and cats). Please send a photo of your animal for Sawyer to see. He'll gladly share it will all his friends on his blog. Please send photos and a blog post about your animal to paduit@hotmail.com THANKS!!

P.S. Sawyer would like to report that Max and his owner, Patricia, were the first to the pit stop. His photo and the information will be the first featured friend following the 4th of July holiday. Stay tuned!!!

JJ figured out how she and Sawyer could be friends. She would glance over the back of the chair at Sawyer who was outside the window. She finally got gutsy enough to get on the floor and look out. Though it was the perfect solution for her, Sawyer wasn’t the biggest fan of the idea. He would rather lick her instead (or as JJ would say “spit” on her.)

Just an evening stroll around the neighborhood: JJ helped walk Sawyer along the banks of the pond. Then she helped grandpa pull the wagon while Sawyer trotted alongside Ryan. What a fun time they both had!!

Sunday, July 02, 2006

Sawyer and JJ visited the duck pond. It was full of ducks and geese. Here are some of the fine, feathered friends they encountered. (Click to enlarge)

The things we do for kids!!!

Mallory requested a picture of Sawyer’s cage. Here is something even better…PEOPLE inside the cage!!!

JJ was excited about the cage and decided to explore. In the process, she asked grandpa to get in. Here she is locking him inside. Don’t worry Grandpa, the cage and all the items inside were just cleaned. All you have to do is figure out how to escape. Good luck!
