Sawyer's Aunt Christy is no stranger to the blog. He showcased her Law School Graduation from SMU this past May!! He is so proud of her for finishing the bar exam! He's so glad that she can celebrate her birthday and many accomplishment today!!! Christy is Sawyer's dad's sister. You may remember her from the Burk visits or with Oscar on the blog! Sawyer is proud to show this photo of Christy with his Great-Grandfather, Tom, who is a loyal blog visitor and commentor!!

Bunny

Birthday Wishes to you, Aunt Bunny!!

Sawyer sends birthday blessings to his Aunt Bunny. She has made several appearances on the blog with JJ. She is Sawyer's mother's sister as well as JJ's mom and Matt's wife (Birthday wishes were sent to Matt last month...Sawyer thought he should have his picture posted as well). Here is a picture of their family. It was taken at Sawyer's parent's wedding. Aren't they a beautiful family!!

AUNT CYNTHIA!!!!

Sawyer is so glad that he can send birthday wishes to his Aunt Cynthia. Cynthia is married to Sawyer's mother's brother, Paul. They are the parents of Jedi, who you saw August 8th. Sawyer is very excited that he gets to meet Cynthia at Christmas. He will be saving a birthday kiss for her!!!! He selected this picture because he thinks she looks very glamourous!!

Jill

Sawyer would like to wish his Aunt Jill a Happy Birthday!!!!

Here is one of his favorite photographs. It was taken a few years ago before he was born, but he has heard many great stories about the "hat"-filled event. These vintage hats were worn by his Great-Grandmother Mimi and her family years ago. Each hat was veryunique!! Be sure to look for his Aunt Jill...she is the beautiful blonde on the far right!!! We all hope you enjoy your special day!!!

True Friend

When give the choice between the two, Sawyer gladly selected his "Big Friend." He is such a loyal pal!!

As we were setting up this photo, we placed the two "Friends" side-by-side for a comparison. Sawyer saw it as a great opportunity! He briefly looked at the two toys and then swiftly made a dash for his "Big Friend" (as you can see in the right corner of the picture). Though Sawyer loves his "New Friend," he still cherishes the bond he has with his old buddy!!!

New Friend

Sawyer loved his "Big Friend" so much that he ripped him to pieces (literally). He took out the squeaker and some of the stuffing. Therefore we finally decided to replace him "Big Friend" with a "New Friend." We were shocked when we got the "New Friend" Home" and compared the two. We had forgetten how clean and white "Old Friend" use to be. It just went to prove that Sawyer played with his favorite toy often. Now he has Two Friends!!!

Sawyer's Big Friend

Sawyer wanted to make sure that during Friend's month that he included his Big Friend. This was the first companion that Sawyer got when he moved to the Burk's House. Directly after he was adopted, Sawyer and his parents went to PetSmart. This toy was picked out for him to sleep and play with. Since the beginning, Sawyer has enjoyed the company of his Big Friend!! They have been through thick and thin togehter!! What a great friend!!

Daisy, Nicola, & Gretchen

Daisy: Black lab/German Shepherd mix - 3 years old

Nicola: Chocolate lab - 2 years old

Gretchen: German Shepherd - 5 months old

Rarely do we ever get the dogs to sit all together and to sit this still...they all laid down at one point and then Nicola starting getting into position to pounce. He kept whining like kids do for pictures - "Come on, Mommmm!"

Toby

As we searched and searched for photos of Toby, we discovered that he is never alone. He always has to be with someone or right in the middle of the action. Here is the only picture we found where Toby was by himself. It was during Christmas while we were trying to assemby a bike for Tabitha. Though he is getting elderly, Toby never misses a thing.

Oscar

These photos were summited from the Burk Archives by Tom Brown, Sawyer's Great-Granddad. Oscar is the puppy of Christy, Ryan's sister. Just like Sawyer, his Cousin Oscar grew 'as quick as lightning!' But we still love to remember his puppy days!

Mitsy

Mitsy is a Jack Russell Terrier and the proud dog of Daniel and Canaan. Mitsy can be seen on this blog on June 19-20 for Sawyer's first playdate. What most of you don't know is before Sawyer was adopted, Mitsy's parents went to Hawaii to vacation while Mitsy hung out with the Burks. Mitsy was so cute and smart, that she encouraged Ryan and Tricia to get a dog!!! Sawyer would like to thank Mitsy for paving the way!!!

Max Owens

Max is 3 1/2 years old Maltese. He belongs to Sara Owens and her family. This picture was taken of Max when David (Sara's brother) was serving in the war. Max wanted to show his support for David and the other US troops. He is proud to be an American!

Jett & Jedi

Another one of Sawyer's cousins is Jett. Jett is an English Bulldog who is about 10 years old. He belongs to Matt, Bunny, and Jorja Jane (JJ) Williams. He loves drinking from bathtub facets, camping, playing with JJ and hanging with Cousin Jedi. This picture was taken a few years ago at Chirstmas time at Grandpa Bob & Grandma Pat's House. Since Sawyer wasn't born at the time, Jedi and Jett wanted to share one of their favorite photos caught on camera!!!

Jedi

Jedi, is a Jack Russell Terrier. He is the dog of Paul and Cynthia Duit, which makes him Sawyer's Cousin. Jedi is very handsome and smart as you can tell from the photos. He likes to pose for photo opportunities and watch TV. Look at his cute dog toy on top! Though the toy is cute, it's not half as adorable as Jedi!!!!

Hi, Sawyer!

I enjoyed the patriotic photos of your Uncle Paul. I got to celebrate the 4th of July be wearing my flag bandana. The fireworks at night were fun, but I didn’t like all the popping during the day.

I was pretty lonely on the 4th since this was the first 4th of July without my sister, Dottie. This is her picture. I miss her very much, but my mom, June, tries her best to give me extra attention by taking me with her whenever she can. I LOVE riding in the car!

The Real Snarf

Sawyer is going 'out on a limb' to inform everybody about the REAL Snarf. That cute, adorable ball of furr you saw in yesterday's blog was his disguise. Therefore, Sawyer pulled this photo out of his private collection. Though Snarf put on a friendly face when Dave & Corrie were home, the moment they left Snarf pulled out his weapon. He paced back in forth of Sawyer's cage all day long to let him know right away who was boss. By Sawyer's report, Snarf would threatened to get"his piece" and would meow over and over to let Sawyer know that he can "walk the walk as well as talk the talk." Though revealing this photo may endanger Sawyer, he felt it was his duty to let the world now the TRUTH!!!

Snarf

Many of you will remember Snarf from Sawyer's posts in May. Sawyer spent a week with Snarf while his parents visited LA. Snarf is definately Sawyer's favorite feline friend. Snarf is the cat of Dave & Corrie. Isn't he just precious! Look at those beautiful eyes and soft fur! How could anyone not like cats?

Jak

Jak (Jack), 5 years old, Golden Retriever, he likes tennis balls only and will not share anything with Meggie! Jak is a huge monster that thinks he's a little mouse. He's smart but acts like a goofball. His other name would be "Jak, no". (Written by Meggie & Jak's Owner, Jentry)

Meggie

"Meggie, 9 years old, Golden Retriever, she likes plush squeaky toys and she likes to be asked to come in, she is very polite and the greeter of the neighborhood and, in fact, she has become popular to the neighbors. Max

"Max is 6. He loves to ride in the boat and hang is head over the side but he gets real irritated because his ears whip in the wind. So I tried a bandana and that seemed to satisfy him and keep his ears from flopping. He also likes to ride in the very front of the boat now that he doesn't have to worry about the wind." Friends Kick-off
