Life is so much fun when spent with friends and family. Sawyer will always remember his first trip to Dallas! He can’t wait to return and see everyone. He just hopes that he can stay out of the pool!!

Sawyer made lots of new pals in Dallas. One of his favorites was Tabitha. They had a great time playing and posing for pictures. Aren’t they just adorable!

Sawyer got to meet his first fellow dog, Toby, while visiting the Burk's. He was a little timid at first, but quickly determined he wanted to be friends. He ran circles around Toby and gave several invitations to play by barking. However, Toby just kept attending to his business. It's funny how times change...Toby used to be that little pup who pestered the older dogs. Now look at him. Maybe next time Sawyer!!!

Weimaraners have often been nicknamed “The Gray Ghost” due to their light gray fur and mesmerizing eyes. Here Sawyer attempted to give a new meaning to the common title as he dashed by one of Diana's beautiful potted plants.

Natural Born Swimmer!
The moment Sawyer was placed in the pool, he began to paddle and head straight for edge to get out. When encouraged to swim to the opposite side of the pool, he quickly taught himself to turn around in an attempt to escape. He made quite the splash!

Sawyer's First Swimming Experience!!

Sawyer was panicked just thinking about going into the water and learning to swim. The moment he touched his first drop of water in the pool, Sawyer clung on for life! Ryan helped him get his "paws wet."

Sawyer is proud to annouce that his Aunt Christy graduated from SMU Law School with a Juris Doctorate. She had her graduate this past weekend in Dallas. Here are a few pictures!

10 WEEKS OLD

At 10 weeks old, Sawyer got to take his first road trip. He hopped in the car and headed to Dallas, TX to celebrate his Aunt Christy's Graduation. Here he is meeting a few new friends, Tabitha (posing) and Christy.

Sara gave Sawyer a great “treat.” It’s a cute jar decorated with paw prints and his name on it. He loves the goodies inside! In fact, he quickly learned the command “SIT” with these yummy snacks! Now he's working on “LAY DOWN.” THANKS SARA!!!

Dogs have to work too!! Sawyer has his first job at 9 weeks old as a model. He has been helping by allowing his mom to take photos of him. Right now, he is helping with prepositions (in, on, under). He finally thought he’d be funny and make a silly face. Instead of “The dog in ON the couch” the caption will have to say… “The dog is ON the couch sticking out his tongue.” Silly dog!

A Dog has to have toys! Sawyer is no exception. It’s hard to tell what he likes the most. Right now his top picks are his “big friend” and the football that Ryan made in junior high home economics class. Also in the photo are his rope, Boomer Sooner (the little red & white rope), and his blue dog from Scott. (see previous post for story.)

You know a dog is spoiled when…he wants to be in the shade. In fact, he will walk to get under a tree and then sit there for a minute. When encouraged to move, he runs to the next tree/shade and sits again. If there is no shade, he'll keep moving until he finds some. He also figured out that there is shade right next to the fence. So when playing in the backyard, he walks up against the fence to get some time out of the sun. If he’s in the house and feeling hot, he goes straight towards the tile. What a smart dog!!!!

Sawyer also got his first experience going for a walk at 9 weeks old. He didn't like it at first. He wasn't too sure about the leash. We had to entice him a few times with treats to getting him moving. He's slowly getting use to the process. He walks a bit more each day. Usually we walk down to the pond and then run back and forth between Ryan and Tricia to get his energy out. He now wags his tail the whole way!!

9 WEEKS OLD

At 9 weeks, Sawyer made a big "jump." He realized he could leap off of things like the couch, chair, or porch. He hasn't quite figured out how to jump up. However, that doesn't stop him from trying! He also figured out at 9 weeks that he had a voice and started to bark like a real dog.

A Dog's gotta sleep where a dog's gotta sleep!

It isn't easy being a dog! Life can be pretty tiring! Thank goodness for nap time!

8 Weeks Old
Here he is at the beginning of May.
Isn't he the cutest!!! He discovered that mommy's favorite blanket was really nice! He loves to cuddle in it!

On Thursday, April 27th, Sawyer got to meet his Uncle Scott, who brought him a cool blue puppy toy that sweaked. He carried it everywhere!!

Sawyer's first week was all about exploring. He was only 7 weeks old at the time. He was a little hesitant to play with his toys at first. He did like playing with a stick. He spent a lot of his first week next to the grill. I think it reminded him of the water bucket where he use to live with his three brothers. He was the first one picked from the litter. We liked him because he was so fun and energetic!!

Sawyer's First Day! He wasn't quite sure where he was. Ryan was trying to help him feel at home!
